What is VeriSign Trust Seal?
The VeriSign Trust Seal brings trust to businesses by helping them establish credibility online. When you display the VeriSign Trust Seal on your Web site, it means that VeriSign has verified that your business or organization is a legal entity and that your Web site belongs to you. Visitors may click the seal to confirm your information. The seal also means that your site has passed a daily malware scan and visitors can click on your site with confidence.

How does reselling the VeriSign Trust Seal help my business?
Increase revenues and profits by offering the VeriSign Trust Seal as an upsell, a cross-sell, or as part of a premium value-added bundle to merchants and Web site owners who already do business with you. Many small businesses struggle to draw traffic to their Web sites and to generate the confidence to buy, click, and sign-in online. The VeriSign Trust Seal shows your customer’s visitors that they are trusted by the leader in online trust and gives them the confidence to click. By partnering with VeriSign and reselling the VeriSign Trust Seal, you can differentiate your service, reduce customer churn, and increase profits.

Who is the target customer for the VeriSign Trust Seal?
Every Web site needs to be trusted to be successful. Growing concerns about fake sites, viruses and identity theft have made consumers reluctant to do business with Web sites they don’t know and brands that are not familiar to them. As a result, small businesses struggle to draw traffic to their Web sites and to generate the confidence to buy, click, and sign-in online. Any Web site or merchant that needs visitors to trust their site, but does not need the security of SSL is an ideal customer. Examples:
- Ecommerce shops: Perfect for online retailers that outsource their payment or shopping cart. Your customers can post the VeriSign Trust Seal to give their customers the confidence to buy online.
- Publishers: Traffic and clicks are critical to success. Help publishers establish credibility to promote click-throughs with VeriSign Trust Seal.
- Small business owners: They’ve established their reputation in their neighborhood. The VeriSign Trust Seal helps them bring that same level of trust to their Web site.
Note: If your customer’s Web site uses SSL, they must use VeriSign SSL in order to display the VeriSign Trust Seal.
Why do my customers need a seal to be trusted?
Growing concerns about fake sites, viruses and identity theft have made consumers reluctant to do business with Web sites they don’t know and brands that are not familiar to them. In fact, 74% of US Internet users listed identity theft as a major concern (Taylor Nelson Sofres Report, 2008). As a result, small businesses struggle to generate the confidence to buy, click, and sign-in online.
The solution is showing a Web site visitor a highly visible cue that they can trust – a trust mark. 86% of online shoppers feel more confident about entering personal information on sites using security indicators (VeriSign Brand Tracking Research, 2009).

What is the difference between the VeriSign Trust Seal and the VeriSign Secured® Seal?
The VeriSign Trust Seal is an enhanced version of the established and highly trusted VeriSign seal. Like the VeriSign Secured Seal, the VeriSign Trust Seal shows that a site is authenticated by the high standards of VeriSign. However, the VeriSign Trust Seal provides additional information in more places to help assure your customers that your site is safe from search to browse to buy. The VeriSign Trust Seal is free with the purchase of any VeriSign® SSL Certificate (a $299 value). It can also be purchased separately for Web sites that do not require SSL for securing online transactions. Note: If your Web site uses SSL, you must use VeriSign SSL in order to display the VeriSign Trust Seal.

What information is displayed in the VeriSign Trust Seal?
When a visitor clicks the VeriSign Trust Seal, the VeriSign Trust Seal verification page opens and displays information about the Web site, the Web site owner’s identity, and the malware scan. The information displayed includes the site owner’s name, city, state, country, and the status of the most recent malware scan. This information helps customers know that they are dealing with the business they intend to deal with and not an imposter's Web site or a Web site that has been infiltrated by hackers.
